Marshall Haworth, seasoned wakeboarder and staff hydrogeologist, grew up in Colorado going to the lake every weekend from May through October. Now, he visits several reservoirs around the state, including Trinidad Reservoir, where this picture was taken. Marshall’s passion for recreational water sports continues to give him a firsthand look at the changes in our water supply. Since his first visit to Trinidad Reservoir in 2012, the average reservoir storage in July has increased quite a bit. In July 2013, average storage was at a low of 9,673 acre-feet (the lowest that had been observed since 1996). In the past two years the reservoir storage has increased, and in July 2016, the average storage was 30,393 acre-feet (more than three times the July 2013 average storage).
