As of August 6, 2019, Colorado remains 100 percent drought free. This year marks the first time the state has achieved zero percent drought conditions since US Drought monitor began recording conditions in 2000.
More than 5 percent of Colorado is experiencing some degree of abnormally dry conditions. This is an improvement from three months ago, when 15 percent of the state was abnormally dry. It is also an improvement from one year ago, when approximately 81 percent of the state experienced dry conditions and 75 percent of the state was considered to be experiencing some degree of moderate to exceptional drought.
