As of June 30, 2020, more than 84 percent of Colorado is experiencing some degree of abnormally dry (yellow) or moderate drought (light orange) conditions. More than 56 percent of the state is experiencing severe (orange), extreme (red) or exceptional (dark red) drought. This is drier than three months ago when 67 percent of the state was abnormally dry or in drought.
It is significantly drier than one year ago when 100 percent of the state was drought free for the first time in at least 19 years.
